The national assessment for Malta provides information on erosion hazards for the full Maltese coastline and also covers other climate-related hazards. The assessment is carried out by researchers at University of Malta and has generated management-supporting maps describing coastal susceptibility to climate change. It provides a description of the entire Maltese coast in terms of ten different coastal configurations that infer management considerations for five hazard types. The study outputs are presented as a contribution to more effective management and decision-making by civil protection and planning agencies and as a key first step in the risk analysis process. The assessment is available as a scientific paper published in Ocean & Coastal Management.
